About Karla

I am a daughter and granddaughter of teachers and was fortunate to have been raised by doting parents who instilled the value of working hard and discovering how one can be a lifelong learner.  I count my blessings to have grown up in a loving, Christian home, surrounded by a large extended family who taught the value of faith and family.  I graduated from college with a BA in Sociology and Art History and went to work in Business for a few years.  Although I had an interest in Business, I felt a calling to work with children.   I then returned to school, to pursue a post-Baccalaureate licensure in Elementary Education.  I have taught in three other states, aside from Wisconsin.  Each experience presented different opportunities for growth - both personally and professionally.

I have been married for over 20 years and have two beautiful children who are pursuing their vocations in life.  I help out with various groups at church and enjoy crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and plunking away on the piano/violin.  I feel privileged and blessed to share God's word every day with the students of St. Mark Lutheran School.

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
